I never thought I would say this, but I absolutely love Walt Disney World. I took my first trip in 2017. My sister and I took my nephew for his birthday that year. Neither of us had ever been to Disney, so we were excited for our first trip. I was extremely overwhelmed during the entire planning process. What were fast passes? There are 4 main parks!? What rides should we do? Where should we eat? Where are the characters? These are only SOME of the questions that flooded my brain while I was planning the trip…myself.
The First Trip
Fast forward to the trip. It was fun…..BUT it was kind of miserable at the same time. We had no clue how the parks were oriented. We covered a lot of distance between rides trying to utilize our fast passes (now replaced with the paid Genie+ service), and we didn’t really do anything efficiently. There was a lot of time wasted in long lines and backtracking over our steps. My nephew seemed to enjoy it, but it didn’t seem like it was extraordinarily magical for him. I told myself that I would never go back.
Are We Really Going to Do This Again?
Fast forward a couple years later, and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge officially opened at Disney. My step-daughter had never been to Disney. In my family, we all love Star Wars and Halloween was also upon us.
My husband and step-daughter are also obsessed with the Nightmare Before Christmas. If you’re unfamiliar, this is the one time a year that guests can meet Jack and Sally. I bit the bullet and we decided to go to WDW to celebrate Brooklyn’s birthday and to participate in the Halloween festivities.
I made a vow that I would not let this trip be miserable. I spent hours researching “game plans” for hitting the best rides and I utilized a Travel Agent specialized in Disney planning to book my trip, meals, and fast passes. That trip was EPIC. We truly had the best time. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was so much fun. Rise of the Resistance was under construction and I couldn’t wait to go back and experience it. (It is amazing in case you were wondering)
When I decided to pursue my Travel Agent dreams, I knew I wanted to take the training to plan Disney trips as well. I wanted everyone to have an experience like my SECOND trip and NOT like my first. I hope that you will continue to follow my page. I will be updating weekly with Disney advice along with other travel destination blogs.
