Packing for Toddlers at Disney

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Packing for Toddlers at Disney. Just saying it is stressful. Your trip is booked. Now, you’re starting to have anxiety because it’s time to start packing for your day in the parks with toddlers/ babies. Packing in my opinion is the WORST. I always like to have a list that I can check off.

We are heading to Disney in a week for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Basic things we will be taking of course include sunscreen, sun protection, diapers, etc. I wanted to take the time to write this post and share a few of the things that I plan on taking in order to make our trip less stressful and more enjoyable with a 2-year-old and a 1-year-old!

Stroller

Yes, strollers are big. Yes, they are cumbersome. Yes, it is totally worth it to take a stroller. I would even recommend a stroller for kids up to ages 7 or so if they can fit! Disney is big and it requires a lot of walking. It’s nice to give the little legs a break. We have a BOB Duallie and it reclines flat. This also gives our babies a nice place to squeeze in a short nap. We are taking our stroller, but there are plenty of places to rent strollers in Disney such as Kingdom Strollers, Magic Strollers, or Orlando Stroller Rentals.

Here is the link to Disney stroller requirements if you plan on bringing your own. Wagons are not permitted.

Stroller Rain Cover and Ponchos

Disney World is located in Florida. Florida is a state where it typically rains at least once per day.  Unless you want to wear wet clothing or cart your kids around in a wet stroller for half the day, I suggest you pack a stroller rain cover and some ponchos. Pro tip – buy the 10 pack of emergency ponchos from Walmart for $8.97. These are so much cheaper than paying for them at the park!

Stroller Fan

Again, this is Florida! It is hot and muggy.  Kids get grumpy when they are hot and the air is stagnant. Bring a stroller fan along to keep a slight breeze going.

Backpack Cooler and Snacks

Yes, you can bring snacks! My friend Samantha recommended this cute Mickey cooler from Amazon! We plan on taking waters, apple slices, uncrustables, granola bars, applesauce, and pretzels/goldfish packs.

Stroller Tag and Tagging Tape

A stroller tag is a nice way to pick your stroller out in the sea of strollers that is Disney. We bought this cute stroller tag off Etsy, and I bought this tagging tape from Amazon as a little extra pop of color.

Baby Carrier

I am taking my Ergo Baby Omni 360 to take my 1-year-old on the rides. I also plan on taking our Tush Baby carriers in line with us. If you are a parent to a toddler, you know how heavy they can get on your hip.  I’m planning on taking the Tush Baby to use once we park the stroller and wait in line.

Portable Phone Charger

Genie+ can really zap your phone! We take a portable power bank with us on all trips, whether it be hiking or a day in an amusement park. We own this solar powered bank. We love taking it on hiking trips.

Ziploc Bags

Ziploc bags are multi-purpose at Disney. You can put your phone or wallet in them for safe-keeping from the rain. You can also put soiled clothes or dirty diapers in them if you aren’t close to a trash can. Multi-use and easy to pack along!

I hope this is helpful as you start packing for your Disney trip with kiddos! Keep an eye out for my future blog post reviewing our trip next week!
